Johnstone's - Photo History

Horse drawn traffic on the right contrast with the tram lines running down the middle of the road. There are records of a dress making and millinery shop that was owned by a Mrs Carmichael in the 1830's.

The Co-op. William McNaught, manager of George Houston and Company's mill had a house here. The second shop of the Johnstone Co-operative Society was started in 1881.
