Johnstone's - Photo History

Parish Church Hall

The Building was opened on the 13th of May 1902, where the first meeting was held at 8pm that evening by the Rev. William Macloy. There were rooms that could hold up to 450 people. The Womans Guild was instrumental in getting the building erected and the plans were approved by the Laird of Johnstone - it still gets to me that we had a Laird!

The biggest change is to the roof, with the tall chimneys now removed, in part to storm damage, and the rest down to a modern heating system. It is a wonderful building, and well used by various groups, an asset to the town.
